Andy Williams' 'It's the most wonderful time of the year!' is playing in most stores and Christmas decorations are adorning shopping centres, and even our streets. A person cannot help but be somewhat affected by the magical feeling of Christmas, regardless of your chosen faith, and reflect on the year which has passed.

2018 was a year of great change both economically and politically. We experienced one of the worst droughts recorded in the Western Cape, hit by load shedding again, experienced a definite uneasiness in the property market and general uncertainty at the planned land expropriation and yet, as always, we in the Western Cape survived and continued to thrive.

At this time of the year we also like to give thanks to those who have been good to us; our attorneys, bond originators, compliance contractors and fellow agencies, to those who have supported us; our loyal buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants, and to those who gave us the opportunity to make a difference in our community; Power of Hope, NOFSA, Ruyterwacht community and Tygerberg Hospital.

We would also like to thank our strong team of sales and rental agents who worked tirelessly to ensure the best possible service is delivered to all our clients. By doing this, they managed to achieve successful results in a rather trying year.

Thank you also to our reliable and very efficient administration support team who ensured the smooth running and improvement of our office systems. Each of you are invaluable to our team's success!

Our team grew by an incredible 50% this year, which has meant the addition of a second Realtors International office in Village square. This new site has enabled us to increase our efficiency and ultimate service to our clients.

Lastly, we would like to show our appreciation for the tremendous amount of development that was realized in Durbanville during 2018 and the people behind these. These developments saw to growth in our local community, and real estate market, and we will continue seeing the positive effects of these additions in our local community throughout 2019.

We are excited for what 2019 holds and wish you a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones!
